Library and School Programs
Read & Hike Idaho programs are designed to help schools and libraries connect books, families, students, and outdoor exploration in simple, flexible ways. These guides can be used for library storytimes, summer reading programs, classroom extensions, school outdoor learning, family engagement events, field trips, or self-guided activities families can complete on their own.
Each program includes a clear plan, suggested books, supplies, activity ideas, reflection prompts, and take-home extensions. Schools and libraries can use the guides as written or adapt them to fit their own community, outdoor spaces, age groups, staff time, and learning goals. The focus is on helping children and families read together, notice the natural world, build curiosity, and create meaningful connections between stories and place.
